Swimming Lessons

During the summer, Kyia got pretty comfortable with the water and would take her floaties off and just jump in without giving us much of a chance to stop her so we decided it was time for swimming lessons.  With a new baby and vacations, we kept missing the swimming lesson deadline.  We found that the YMCA here gives swimming lessons all year round so we signed her up.  The first couple lessons, she was shy with her teacher and lost interest fast.  It took me awhile to even get her to go into the water.  Then she would only do each thing he told her to do once.  Yesterday I decided to take her swimming before her lesson to get her warmed up to the water.  Her teacher, Mr Nick, was totally shocked at how comfortable with the water she was. It was a complete turn around from last week. She would just jump in or flip over on her back which she wouldn't do for him before.  She was crazy but it was funny to watch.  Hopefully she will keep this up.

Hey Kelly, I hope you don't mind I found your blog from Stef's. I can't believe how big Kyia is and now you have another sweet little girl! Congratulations!!! It looks like you guys are doing great and loving Nashville. I'm so sad we never made it to Nashville while we were living in AL--it sounds like such a cool city! Just wanted to say hi and congratulations on little Brooklyn! I love her name, too! That's always been one of my favorite girl names!
