Fishing

Wyoming had a free fishing day on the 6th so we took Kyia fishing for the first time.  The day started really cold, windy and grey.  Mike was set on going up to the lake while the rest of us were skeptical.  Eventually on the drive up there, we hit snow.  The roads were covered and the few 1 or 2 cars we saw, were turning around but Mike wanted to keep going so we did.  Once we started going downhill, the snow stopped and it actually turned into really good weather and since the weather was cooler, there were no bugs which was a huge plus.  Kyia's favorite part was the river we had to cross in the truck.  She asked Grandpa why he didn't have a "jump over" button in his car so that we didn't have to drive through it.

Once we got to the campground, it was a 1.5 mile hike into the lake. The fishing was great and we were the only people at the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful up there.  We caught over 100 fish in a couple hours.  Kyia was reeling in the fish by herself and had a great time, but probably had more fun throwing rocks into the lake.  At the end of the day, we each took home our limit which turned out to be 30 fish.  Hopefully we can go back soon.

we had to cross in the truck).
You can't see in this picture but there is a river below us

The lake we were at is between the two mountains behind them.

What a fun memory for your girls!! You guys were pretty brave with the weather we've been having. If it ever does warm up, we do need to get the girls together--maybe go to the park or something!:)
